Why are Spore-based probiotics used in Dr. Julia’s

Happy Gut Multi-vitamin?

Bacillus clausii

  • Most widely used probiotic in the world
  • Potent immune stimulator
  • Antibiotic-resistant for use during antibiotic treatment, so spores remain stable in the presence of antibiotics

Bacillus subtilis

  • Promotes a positive environment for the growth of beneficial bacteria
  • Produces nattokinase (the key compound in Japanese natto) and vitamin K2
  • Highly important for immune development, as it germinates in the small intestine
  • Increases SCFA production in the gut by over 40 percent to support reconditioning of the gut wall and microbiome

Bacillus coagulans

  • Secretes a bacteriocin (natural antibiotic) called Coagulin, which has activity against a broad spectrum of microbes
  • Produces L+ optical form of lactic acid, which has a greater effect on immune

stimulation and gut defense

  • Supports digestive and urinary tract health, as well as nutrient absorption
  • Intensively studied with long history of use for gut concerns and normal inflammatory response

Bacillus mesentericus

  • Produces amylase and proteases which support the growth of beneficial bacteria
  • Inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria like enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli,

Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella typhi, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Campylobacter, Yersinia enterocolitica

  • Regulates bowel movements

NOTE: Some people need to start with a low dose of Happy Gut Multivitamin due to the probiotic content. If you are generally sensitive to probiotics or other supplements, this may apply to you. As your body adjusts to the changes in your microbiome after starting a new probiotic, it is possible to experience “die-off” symptoms. If you have any side effects while taking 4 capsules daily, reduce the dose to 1 capsule daily and increase the dose slowly by adding 1 more capsule every 3-7 days, until you are taking 4 capsules daily without any side effects.
